VFW Auxiliary #6500 says thanks …
Dear Editor:
The members of the Kingstree VFW Auxiliary #6500 would like to extend a special thanks to Lamar Kennedy and the Manning IGA for their generous donation to make Christmas “shoeboxes” for our veterans to the Dorn Community Center (Columbia).
We packed 33 boxes with everything from toothbrushes and toothpaste to booties to other personal items for 32 male veterans and one female veteran.
The boxes were delivered on Dec. 16 by Auxiliary members Barbara Harvin of Kingstree and Trisha Ard and Erin Fouse of Lake City.
We are grateful for this support of our veterans.
Sincerely,
Pat Brown
Auxiliary President

Our help is needed now…
Dear Editor:
Due to the recent disaster in Haiti, and as a concerned citizen, I challenge all Clarendon County Citizens to make a contribution. This will provide much needed assistance in the way of purchasing water or medical supplies and many other untold necessities. It is the very least that our generous and caring community can do. This must be done immediately.
The Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce has agreed to be a gathering location for the contributions. If you are willing to participate, please forward to the Chamber your check made payable to The American Red Cross – Haiti Relief. The Chamber will send your donations directly to them.
Please show your compassion by your willingness to participate. Again, this is an immediate need.
Sincerely,
Pansy Ridgeway
