Thanks for support …
Dear Editor:
The Animal Shelter of Clarendon County wishes to extend its gratitude to Stewart Recycling Company of Sumter for its donation of metal to fabricate a trailer for recycling cans.
Also, the Shelter thanks Donna and Chuck Gordon of Wyboo Plantation for the donation of the trailer.
And finally, the ASCC is grateful to Al Colclough of Wyboo Plantation for the actual construction of the trailer.
As one of the Shelter’s fundraisers, the recycling of cans has helped significantly in purchasing medication and other items for the animals.
Sincerely,
John Belding
President

Three Stump a success!
Dear Editor:
We would like to thank and applaud, the hundreds of people who came out for the free concert on the water Sunday, Sept. 6th. We were blessed with a gorgeous day, and were honored to have a nearly 200 boats with approximately 850 people on hand.
We were almost “shocked!”
We were especially proud of the way everyone had a great time and there was zero drama. There were a lot of families with kids, young people up to seniors. The music was great, the crowd was high energy and everyone had a fantastic time.
We can not tell you all how special it was for the inaugural event to be attended by so many of you. To play a live concert for free and have that many people show up, means the world to us.
We would like to thank Gene Morris, and the entire DNR force for everything they did to keep our event safe and problem free.
Special thanks also goes out to Perry Moses and the Coast Guard Auxiliary for their presence and support helping stranded boaters get on their way.
We appreciated the Clarendon EMS for being available and present.
Thanks to Mike Gardner for letting his boat be the other half of our stage and thanks to all our close friends who did whatever needed to be done to keep it running smoothly. You know who you are.
But most of all we are extremely thankful to each and every person who came and hung out all day. We apologize for running out of the free T-shirts, but on our limited budget, 100 shirts was all we could swing this year.
All of the sponsors that chipped in money to afford the shirts we had will never be forgotten. We have already asked the DNR for an events permit for next year and if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make the event more fun, please visit us at www.myspace.com/primetymeagain or email us at vicki_leap@hotmail.com and feel free to give us any suggestions.
The Virtually Unshockable Band will never forget Sunday, Sept. 6, and we hope to see you folks around here soon. It was worth all the hours of work. If you see us on the water, honk and wave!
Sincerely,
Jay and Vicki Parnell
And the Virtually Unshockable Band
