A commitment for the children of the county …
Dear Editor:
On behalf of the citizens of Clarendon County, I would like to thank Mr. Todd Heldreth for all of his hard work and dedication to the first Kid’s Day of Clarendon County held on Saturday, Sept. 27. Not only did Mr. Heldreth single-handedly develop this program for the children of our community, he was instrumental in the organization and implementation of every facet of this great event.
Mr. Heldreth’s commitment and love for the children of our community is obvious in all that he has done to promote this outstanding event. We are truly blessed to have a man who is so devoted to making the lives of all children within the Clarendon County community the best it can possibly be.
Once again, thank you Mr. Heldreth for all you have done to make Kid’s Day of Clarendon County the great success it was.
Sincerely,

Kid’s Day: truly a blessing …
Dear Editor:
As a committee member of the inaugural Kid’s Day of Clarendon County, I’d like to thank everyone who participated and made it such a successful event. It was truly a blessing to see so many children and their families enjoying themselves on a beautiful fall day, especially at no cost.
Primarily, I am writing to recognize Todd Heldreth for the incredible effort he put into this event. There would have been no Kid’s Day without Mr. Heldreth. He suggested it, recruited committee members and did 95 percent of the work of soliciting sponsors, donations, participants, etc.
His wife, Carolyn, was also a tremendous force in the event. Imagine trying to convince people to sponsor a new event with no idea of how it would be received in the community.
The Heldreths’ passion for this project was contagious, as evidenced by the large number of sponsors and participants.
Mr. Heldreth has been very generous in giving credit to the committee, but we all know that he did most of the work. He and Mrs. Heldreth truly deserve a big “Thank You” from everyone in the county for making this event happen.
I haven’t spoken to anyone who had a negative comment about the event, and expect that next year’s event will be even more successful. Every child who attended this year is probably already planning ahead to next year’s event, and telling their friends about the great experience.
Again, thanks to everyone who supported Kid’s Day, and a huge “Job well done!” to Mr. Heldreth.
Sincerely,
Dawn M. Still
