Support the IGA …
Dear Editor:
Hope Lutheran Church of Manning and Vance (near Santee) would like to extend a sincere thank you to Lamar Kennedy and his staff at the Manning IGA store.
Hope Lutheran Church runs an outreach program in Vance (Hope Outreach Ministry) and helps the needy with food and clothing. The outreach program runs three days a week and is open three hours on those days.
Last year was a difficult year in obtaining food and Mr. Kennedy worked with our outreach staff in purchasing food. No matter when we made contact with him, he always had a smile and always had time to discuss the various foods and prices. We certainly would like to sing his praises, as he was truly a blessing in helping us.
I’m not sure how many Clarendon County residents realize how important it is to have a member of the community who runs a business but is never too busy to help anyone.
We at Hope Outreach Ministry cannot begin to say enough, as “thank you” seems so little. We certainly were blessed the day we walked into the Manning IGA.
Again, thank you, Lamar Kennedy and staff.
Sincerely,
Royetta Shick

A community of support …
Dear Editor:
We are so very blessed to live in a community that has been such an incredible support to us. We recently experienced the birth of our first child and we were overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and kindness that was shown to us, not only in the hospital, but throughout the area.
We are so very thankful for Dr. Dorwin Moore and his staff for their outstanding care. The dedication and care of Joel Chauvot and the operating, recovery and respiratory teams at Clarendon Memorial is unmatched anywhere. We would like to give special thanks to all the wonderful doctors and nurses in labor and delivery and the nursery. So many of the employees at the hospital came by with cards and gifts and best wishes.
Thank you for the support of everyone in the Dietary department. Special thanks also go to everyone over at IGA in Manning and the girls over at Locks that Rock.
We are thankful for all of our family and friends and their support. This has been an unbelievable experience and we are so glad that this is where we and our new family call home.
Sincerely,
Evan and Marissa Hallinan
Manning, S.C.
