Each of us can be a “difference maker” …
Dear Editor:
We have a golden opportunity as a community to make a tremendous difference in our citizens’ lives. The key to making a difference is that each one of us has to be a “difference maker.” Seize every opportunity to be good to yourself and to your fellow man. Do the right, embrace the good and be a positive force in your family and in your community.
What can you do? It’s easy:
• If you have children, please help them to develop good, positive attitudes.
• Help children to develop good social traits.
• Model the right things in your life so that others can learn from you.
• Spend time with children and listen to what they have to share. Many children are never listened to and are not recipients of quality time with an adult.
• Make reading a priority in all children’s lives. Readers are succeeders.
It really doesn’t matter how many things one has because things are not important – people are. Their well being is key to having the kind of world we ought to have. Treat everyone with respect and dignity, and good things will come to you.
We really are blessed with a community with good, caring people. Our children are precious and represent a bright future. We, as adults, must never relinquish the responsibility we have to children to help them grow and become productive adults.
Sincerely,
Todd Heldreth
