Frances Duke Morris

Frances Duke Morris, 85, wife of Ray Morris, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007 in a Florence hospital.

Mrs. Morris was born Aug. 17, 1922 in Clarendon County, a daughter of Perry A. and Susan Elma Harrington Duke. She attended Clarendon County schools and was a homemaker. Mrs. Morris was a member of Midway Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and especially caring for her granddaughters and family.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carnell Duke and Alton Duke.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of New Zion are: a daughter, Shelby (Murdock) McKenzie of New Zion; granddaughter, Renee (Marion) Lowder of Lake City; and great granddaughter, Allyson Moody (Dusty Benton) of Lake City.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 in Midway Presbyterian Church.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.
