John H. Horton Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. John H. Horton, Jr., 75, of Cochran, Ga. who died, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 were held on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Don Scarborough officiating.
Burial was in Bethany Baptist Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Horton was born in Bleckley County, the son of the late John Henry Horton, Sr. and Mattie Gibbs Horton. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was retired from U.S. Army having served in Korea and Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. He was also retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. both of Warner Robins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Horton; brothers, Cecil Horton, Jack Horton, Ramsey Horton and Bill Horton; and sisters, Pauline Johnson, Helga Hughes, Louise Collins and Mildred Woods.
Survivors include his wife, Eleonora Z. Horton of Cochran; a daughter, Monica (Ralph) Cogdill of Summerton; a grandson, John Derek Cogdill of Summerton; two sisters, Hazel Manning of Cochran and Neline Bernard of Crowley, Louisiana.
