Georgia Austin Boykin

Georgia Austin Boykin, 89, died Monday, December 10, 2007, in Lake Marion Nursing Facility in Summerton.

Born August 27, 1918, in Orangeburg County, she was a daughter of the late Rodamond P. and Lula Singletary Austin. She was a member of Manning First Baptist Church and the T. E. L. Sunday School Class, and was a retired inspector for Manning Manufacturing Company.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Billie (Gregg) Hemingway of Summerton; two sons, Rodamond Boykin of Manning; and Jack (Jean) Boykin of Turbeville; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara E. Boykin; and a son, A. L. Boykin Jr.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, in the Summerton Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles M. Hemingway Jr. officiating.

Memorials may be made to the T.E.L. Sunday School Class of Manning First Baptist Church, 49 W. Boyce Street, Manning, S.C. 29102 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
