Winnie Lou F. Stephens

Winnie Lou Floyd Stephens, 84, widow of John Kelly Stephens Sr., died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter.

Born Oct. 4, 1923, in Barrineau, she was a daughter of the late Ander and Leola Hanniford Floyd. She was a member of Clarendon Church of God.

Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Watford of Darlington and Linda Browder of Alcolu; three sons, Gerald Stephens of Sumter, Ricky Stephens of North Charleston and Emmett Stephens of Florence; a sister, Willa Mae McAllister of Pamplico; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Ernest Sessions officiating.

Burial followed in Manning Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tony Dixon, Daniel Dixon, Gerald Stephens Jr., Jessie Browder, Brock Watford and Jerry Brownlee.

Memorials may be made to Free Will Baptist Conference of the Pentecostal Faith, P.O. Box 227, Turbeville, S.C. 29162.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Kelly “Johnny” Stephens Jr.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
