Ruth Miller
KINGSTREE – Ruth Evelent Camp Miller, age 68, widow of Ranson Miller, died Nov. 3, 2007, at her residence, 125 Whitney Lane, Kingstree.
She was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Cades, the daughter of the late Willie Camp Sr. and Nancy Fulton Camp. She received her education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. She accepted Christ as her Savior and joined House of God No. 1 Holiness Church. She was employed by T.S. Ragsdale Co. until her health failed.
Three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Miller of the home; five sons, Al (Margie Kennedy) Miller, Michael (Janice) Miller and Wallace Miller, all of Kingstree, Douglas and Paul Miller of Barrineau; four brothers, Marion Camp of Kingstree, John “Joe” McClary of Kingstree, Willie Camp Jr. of Florence and Roger Major of Alaska; six sisters, Josephine Tisdale of Kingstree, Gail (Larry) Sessions, Stella Brady, Judy (Sammie) Singletary and Carolyn Burgess, all of Lake City, and Willie Dean (Joe) Meadows of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren reared as her own, Dwight, Charles, Travis and Tamekica Miller, all of the home; one niece she reared as a daughter, Gladys Pressley of New Zion; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at House of God No. 1 Holiness Church in Lake City, with Bishop Amos Major, pastor, officiating, the Rev. Lucious Wheeler presiding, assisting the Rev. Herbert Godwin and Evangelist Martha Davis.
Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
