Henry T. Richburg
Henry Thomas Richburg, 71, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at his residence.
Born in the Panola community of Pinewood on Feb. 28, 1936, he was a son of the late Thomas and Minnie Richburg. He was educated in the Clarendon County public school system. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined Mount Pleasant RUME Church. Henry was raised in White Plains, N.Y., where he worked for Chrysler Motor Co. until he retired in 2002 after 40 years of service. Upon his retirement, he relocated back to his home in the Panola community. Henry was united in holy matrimony to the late Annie Mae Oliver Richburg, and from this union they were blessed with two sons.
He was preceded in death by three siblings, Eddie Richburg Sr., Henrietta Richburg and Willie Richburg.
He leaves to grow from his loving memories, two sons, Henry (Connie) Richburg and Curtis (Janet) Richburg, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter, Joanne (Alexander) Davis of Sumter; two sisters, Minnie Hall of Panola and Tina (James) Burnett of White Plains; a brother, John Richburg of Florence; two sisters-in-law, Martha Richburg of Summerton and Janie Stokes of St. Matthews; a brother-in-law, Wilson Oliver of St. Matthews; an aunt, Frances Johnson of Kenbridge, Va.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Mount Pleasant RUME Church in the Panola community of Pinewood with the Rev. Powell Hampton, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Brown Cemetery in the Panola community, Pinewood.
Dyson’s Home for Funerals of Summerton was in charge of the arrangements.
