Roy Touchberry Sr.

DARLINGTON – Manley L. “Roy” Touchberry Sr., 85, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007.

Mr. Touchberry was born in Manning, son of the late Joseph and Nell Gibson Touchberry. He served his country in the U.S. Army and fought in the Invasion of Normandy. Roy worked for Thomas and Howard for 26 years and was operator of B&T Package Store in Darlington. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are two sons, Manley L. “Roy” (Rebecca) Touchberry Jr. of Sumter and Thomas “Tommy” C. (Diana) Touchberry of Michigan; a daughter, Jane (David) Barber of Darlington; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris S. Touchberry; a brother, Carl Touchberry; and sisters, Lois and Geraldine.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Belk Funeral Home of Darlington was in charge of the arrangements.
