William J. Miles

William Joel “Joe” Miles, 65, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.

Mr. Miles was born Dec. 2, 1941, in Conway, a son of William Dwight and Ernie Jo Evans Miles. He attended Horry County schools and was an Army veteran. Mr. Miles was retired from Fermpro and attended Kingstree Second Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Edward Miles.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Edwards Miles of Kingstree; one son, William Joel Miles Jr. of Socastee; two daughters, Janet M. (Rusty) Farmer of Manning and Jennifer M. (Scott) Davis of Georgetown; one brother, Kay Miles of Atlanta; two sisters, Gail Rymar of Conway and Betsy Phillips of Florence; and four grandchildren, Emily Farmer, Sarah Farmer, Miles Farmer and Sydney Davis.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Donnie Witherspoon and the Rev. John Hudson, were held on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Williamsburg Funeral Home in Kingstree.

Burial was in Kingstree Memorial Gardens.
