Lena Marie Gardner White

BISHOPVILLE -- Lena Marie Gardner White, 61, wife of Davis A. White, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Born in Livingston County, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Robert Vroman and the late Rita Clark Vroman. She was a Summary Court judge in Dorchester County.

Survivors include her husband of Summerton; sons, Michael (Mariana) Gardner of Anderson, William Rex Gardner of Summerville and Davis A. (Dawn) White Jr. of Bishopville; daughters, Marie (Steve) Wolfensberger of Moncks Corner, Betsy (Herbie) Brown of Nesmith, Lee (Ryan) Mitchell of Augusta and Kay Baxley of Bishopville; two sisters, Bobbie (Pete) Hillier and Dorothy Corbin, all of New York; nine grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, in the Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home chapel.

Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Medical University of South Carolina Liver Transplant Unit, 171 Ashley Ave., Charleston, S.C. 29425.

Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home of Bishopville was in charge of arrangements.
