Lillie Pugh Mims

Lillie Pugh Mims, wife of Ernest Mims Sr., died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at her residence.

Born May 28, 1932, in the Hallietown section of Manning, she was a daughter of the late Willie Pugh and Rosa Martin Pugh. She received her education at Manning Training School. In her youth, she joined Elizabeth Baptist Church. Later, she became a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors beside her husband are a daughter, Jean Jeanette (William) Peten; three sons, Ernest (Johnna) Mims Jr., Gregory (Brenda) Mims and Larry Mims; two brothers, the Rev. George (Ella) Pugh and James Pugh; three sisters, Sarah (Harry) Richburg, Virginia (Willie) Bandy and the Rev. Evelyn Hathaway; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at First Baptist Church, Williamsburg, Va., directed by Nelson Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg.
