Edward Ervin Buddin Sr.

Edward Ervin Buddin Sr., age 75, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at his home after an illness.

Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Johnny E. Buddin and Sudie I. Wheeler Buddin. He was a farmer and retired from Crescent Tool in Sumter. He was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Irene DuBose Buddin of Gable; two sons, James Melvin (Cathern “Beth”) Buddin of Gable and Edward Ervin “Bud” Jr. (Karen) Buddin of Sumter; a daughter, Penny H. (James) Tallon of Lynchburg; three sisters, Mary Olive Freeman of Kingstree, Carolina Kinder of Hebron and Vera Belle West of Portland, Ore.; a grandson of the home, James Michael Buddin; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at New Zion United Methodist Church.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to New Zion United Methodist Church.

Floyd Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
