James C. Hines
James “Jimmy” Clifton Hines, husband of Catherine Dingle Hines, died Sept. 20, 2007, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1943, in Edenton, N.C., he was the son of Gladys Hines and the late Andrew Blount. James was the owner of Hines Painting.
In addition to his father, he is predeceased by two brothers, George C. Hines and William H. Reed.
He is survived by a daughter; Dr. Lisa Hines of San Francisco, Calif.; a stepson; Eric (Cynthia) Dingle of Summerton; two sisters, Mary McClease and Zelma Hines, both of Edenton; three brothers, Thomas (Sharon) Gilliam of Bronx, N.Y., Bill (Shirley) Gilliam of Wilson, N.C., and Sylvester Hines of New York, N.Y.; an uncle, Clevaland Blount of Edenton; four grandchildren, Corena, Erica, Samuel and Nailychaia; three children that he cared for and loved as if they were his own, Shiroshell, Chucky and Keith Dingle; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Monday at St. Matthews AME Church with the Rev. Manual Fogle, pastor, officiating.
Summerton Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
