Darlene Kennedy

Darlene Kennedy, age 34, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital, Manning.

Born in New Zion, she was the daughter of Lillie Young Kennedy and the late Frank Arthur Kennedy. She was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the public schools of Richland and Clarendon counties. She was employed by Courtyard by Marriott Northeast in Columbia.

Survivors include a son, Albert “Demont” Kennedy of New Zion; mother, Lillie “Silk” Young; sister, Deedee (Deric) Evans; brother, James Young Jr.; paternal grandmother, Carrie Kennedy, all of New Zion.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia. Burial was at Howard Chapel AME Chruch, New Zion. The Rev. Thurmond Bowen, pastor, officiated.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
