Annie Mae Lawson
Annie Mae Lawson, 60, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center in Sumter.
Affectionately known as “Ann,” she was born Nov. 29, 1946, in Summerton. She was a daughter of the late J.C. “Sigh” Lawson and the late Evelyn “Elease” Lawson. She attended the public schools of Clarendon County. She was formerly employed by Knights Inn until her health declined. She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother and a dedicated friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to grow from her love and cherish her memory are: three sons, Frank Lawson and Lester Lawson of the home and Stanley (Yolineda) Lawson of Davis Station; a daughter, Marva Lawson of New York City, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Akeem, Tavon, Courtney, Alexandria, Ashley and Miles; two sisters, Christine Lawson of the St. Paul community and Mary Ann Lawson of Miami, Fla.; a brother, Willie (Bernadette) Lawson of Columbia; an aunt, Noralee Ragin of Miami; a very special friend, Mary Alice Hart of the St. Paul community; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Lawson were held on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Liberty Hill AME Church with the Rev. Dr. Melvin J. Capers officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Summerton Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
