Brian K. Shorter

Brian Kelly Shorter, 39, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, in Savannah, Ga.

Mr. Shorter was born May 8, 1968, in Sumter, a son of Henry B. “H.B.” Shorter Jr. and Florence “Judy” Garrington Shorter. He was a truck driver for Plumbline Trucking. He loved automobiles and motorcycles and was an avid Gamecocks fan. He loved home and family. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents of Sumter are one brother, Ronald Booth (Tammy) Shorter of Manning; and a nephew, Joshua Booth Shorter.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Garrington and Mr. and Mrs. Booth Shorter, and a close friend, Jimmy Hughes.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Keith Burgess officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Kolb, Andy Hodge, Kevin Hodge, Bill Dennis, Duvon Herrington and Jim Russell.

Memorials may be made to Free Will Baptist Home for Children, 5232 Turbeville Highway, Turbeville, S.C. 29162.

Bullock Funeral Home of Sumter was in charge of the arrangements.
