Bill Montgomery Sr.
Bill Montgomery Sr., 59, husband of Cynthia Tindal Montgomery, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at his home in Manning.
Born Nov. 10, 1947, in the Live Oak section of Clarendon County, he was the son of the late Sye Montgomery Sr. and Shirley Brown Montgomery. He received his formal education from Manning Training School. He accepted Christ and joined Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed with Furse Construction Co.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Tindal Montgomery of the home; three sons, Treyvon Montgomery of the home, Anthony (Kiesha) Montgomery of Alcolu and Staff Sgt. Billy (Luiza) Montgomery Jr.; five stepsons, Jermaine, Terriance, Rodrick, Artavis Tindal and Cra Shawn Samuel, all of the home; four daughters, Loretta and Sharrington Montgomery, both of Manning, Jasamine and Ashely Montgomery of the home; five stepdaughters, Crystal Samuel of Manning, Erin Tindal of Atlanta, Ga., Toya, Christine and Cynthia Tindal, all of the home; five brothers, Johnny Lee Brown, Charles (Bernice) Montgomery, Bernie Montgomery, Willie Earl (Catherine) Montgomery, all of Pompano, Fla., and James Montgomery of Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters, Minnie Pearl Johnson of Paxville and Ree (Frostic) Brown of Wilmington; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Manning, with the Rev. Leon Winn, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Revs. George P. Windley Sr., Henry McCray, Jimmy Lee Thompson and Effie Hilton.
Burial was in the churchyard cemetery.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
