Earline Howard

Earline McFadden Neal “Noni” Howard died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Sumter Health and Rehab.

Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late James and Anna McFadden. She was a lifelong member of Mount Pisgah AME Church, where she served in many capacities throughout her lifetime.

Surviving are two sons, Bobby Howard of New York, N.Y., and Alexander Neal Jr. of Sumter; a daughter, the Rev. Betty Neal of New York; a devoted granddaughter, Catherine Tips of Sumter; other grandchildren, Robin Jenkins, Blondena Johnson, Ulysses Neal and Alexander Neal III; 10 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Neal; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at Mount Pisgah AME Church in Sumter, with the pastor, the Rev. M.C. Ragin, officiating.

Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Park on Wise Drive in Sumter.

Palmer Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
