Annie Freeman

Annie Will Randall Freeman, 99, widow of Edwin Lee Freeman Sr., died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Raleigh, N.C.

Born May 20, 1908, in Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Elsa and Etta Smith Randall. She was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sumter and a member of Highland United Methodist Church in Raleigh. She has resided for the past seven years with her daughter in Raleigh.

Surviving are a daughter, Kay Freeman (Bynum) Driggers of Raleigh; three sons, Edwin Lee (Shirley) Freeman Jr. of Pendleton, Christopher Randall “Chris” Freeman of Summerton and David Paul Freeman of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Miriam Wilder of Columbus, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A special thanks is extended to caregivers, Shirley, Jeannine and Lola.

Graveside services were held on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in Evergreen Memorial Park in Sumter with the Rev. James “Jim” Lee officiating.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s St., Suite 400, Raleigh, N.C. 27605, or to Highland United Methodist Church, 1901 Ridge Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27607.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
