Corine Ard
Corine Rebecca DuBose Rhodus Ard, 86, widow of Wessie Ard, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at her home in Manning.
Born Jan. 28, 1921, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Joe S. and Lottie Ridgeway DuBose. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Manning First Baptist Church. She was first married to the late Leslie M. Rhodus.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruby R. Harrington of Sumter and Minerva (DeVaughn) Jones of Manning; a brother, Richard (Fran) DuBose of Manning; two sisters, Josephine Drake of St. Matthews and Mildred Haley Lewis of Myrtle Beach; special nephew, Clyde DuBose of Pine Mountain Valley, Ga.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leslie M. Rhodus Jr.; three brothers, Smith DuBose, Ernest DuBose and Scott Dubose; two sisters, Emily Rhodus and Isabelle Adee; and two grandchildren, Leslie M. “Chip” Rhodus and Dana K. Harrington.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Revs. Eddie Harrington and Mark Huckaby officiating.
Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Thomas Harrington, Marty Jones, D.J. White, Mushie Hendrix, Kevin Hendrix and Jamie Brunson.
Honorary pallbearers were Donald White, Scotty Harrington, Wil Jones, Wessie Harrington and P.J. Tobias.
