William T. Kennedy

William Thomas “Billy” Kennedy, 71, husband of Bonnie Eltz Kennedy, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.

Born in Kingstree, he was a son of the late William Palmer Kennedy and the late O’Neal Duke Kennedy.

He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was employed by Tomlinson Grocery Store in Manning, Sunbeam and Air Cap in quality control.

Survivors include his wife of Sumter; two sons, Tony Kennedy and his wife, Cindy, of Dallas, and Tommy Kennedy of Cross City, Fla.; a brother, Jerry Kennedy and his wife, Ruth, of Florence; a sister, Chris Litton of Cayce; a stepdaughter, Abi Burk of Dover, Del.; a stepson, Andy Celinskis of Harleysville, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Jerry Pickens and Murray Gibbons officiating.

Burial was in the New Zion United Methodist Church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Roger Gerrald, Earl Fleming, Junior Davis, O’Neal Kennedy, Ryan Chadwick and Neal Kennedy.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter was in charge of arrangements.
