Harmon Wescoat Failmezger made his grand debut at 8:27 a.m. on July 7, 2007. His parents Shea and Mike Failmezger aren’t just lucky, they are blessed.

There are a lot of things associated with the number seven.

In Christianity, there are the Seven Churches of Asia, to which the Book of Revelation is addressed. There are the seven virtues (chastity, moderation, liberality, charity, meekness, zeal and humility), which correspond to the seven deadly sins (lust, gluttony, greed, anger, envy, sloth and pride). Jesus told Peter to forgive his neighbor 70 times 7 times.

Seven represents the Sabbath, upon which day God rested.

There are seven notes in the traditional western music scales and Seven Wonders of the World.

From 007 to the Seven Dwarves to Seven Samurai, the number seven has been heralded in Hollywood.

And for Manning couple, Shea and Mike Failmezger, it was certainly a lucky day as their third child, Harmon Wescoat made his appearance at Clarendon Memorial Hospital, weighing in at 6 pounds, 11.5 ounces.

“If he had weighed seven pounds or had been born at 7:07, we were taking him to Vegas,” said mom Shea.

Harmon was the first of the Failmezger’s trio born at the Generations birthing center.

“Generations wasn’t completed when our first Emmeline was born,” said dad Mike. “Number two, Teige was born at Palmetto Richland prematurely.”

For Shea, her most recent birth experience was not just one of luck, but of pure joy.

“I wouldn’t want to do this anyplace else,” Shea said. “I can’t say enough about the whole experience from our anesthetist, Joel Chauvot to all the nurses here in Generations. Everyone has just been super.”

The Failmezger’s had barely moved into their new lakeside home when Harmon decided to make his appearance. The Failmezger’s have made sure his new room is all ready and awaiting his arrival.

Like every other couple whose baby is born at Generation, the Failmezger’s were treated to a candlelight dinner on Day Two of their new son’s life. It was a double celebration … July 8 was the Failmezger’s seventh anniversary.

Maybe that trip to Vegas isn’t a foolish idea, after all?
