George Wilson Jr.

George Wilson Jr., age 52, died July 3, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.

Born Jan. 4, 1955, in Alcolu, he was the son of the late George Wilson Sr. and Ella Mae McBride Wilson. He attended Rock Hill Missionary Church. He received his education in the public schools of Clarendon County. He was employed in the farming industry, until his health failed.

He is survived by one son, Tyreke Wilson of the home; companion, Sharon Washington of the home; one sister, Julia (James) Epps of Alcolu; and two brothers, Norris (Joann) Wilson and Mikel (Ernestine) Wilson, both of Alcolu.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 9, 2007, in the Hayes and LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel in Manning, with the Rev. Ethel Lee Richburg, eulogist.

Burial followed in the Harmony Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
