Allen F. Hodge Sr.
Allen Furman Hodge Sr., 75, husband of Janie Earline McGrady Hodge, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Regency Hospital of Florence.
Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Lou Allen Hodge and the late Carrie DuBose Hodge.
Mr. Hodge was a self-employed contractor for 20 years before joining Santee Cooper, where he retired with 15 years of service.
Surviving besides his wife of 51 years are a daughter, Susie (Dale) Cutter; two sons, Lewis (Ann) Hodge Sr., all of Manning, and A.J. Hodge of Lexington; five grandchildren, Gina (Ronnie) McIntosh, Shirley Cutter, Charles Fuller, Julie Hodge and Lewis A. Hodge Jr., all of Manning; three brothers; three sisters; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Furman Hodge Jr., and two brothers.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in the Forreston Cemetery with the Revs. William Jeffery and David Carlson officiating.
Pallbearers were Lewis Hodge Jr., Gary Timmons, Raymond Timmons, Johnny Timmons, Joe Kennedy, Larry Kennedy and Chris Cutter.
Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory of Sumter was in charge of the arrangements.
