Lizzie Mae Felder
Lizzie Mae Felder died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital, Manning.
She was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Clarendon County. She was a daughter of the late Rev. William Felder and Millie Wilson Felder and stepdaughter of the late Della Felder. In her youth, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Mount Calvary FBH Church and later she joined Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as mother of the church and on the missionary society and in any capacity needed. She received her education in the public schools of Clarendon County.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
She is survived by four daughters, Pearlene (Hayward) Cubbage, Evelyn Felder and Annie Mae (Melvin) Montgomery, all of Manning, and Ester (Harry) Sumpter of Brooklyn, N.Y.; companion, Alma Pringle; two brothers, Willie Felder of Troy, N.Y., and Henry (Shirley) Felder of Manning; two sisters, Barbara A. Hilton of Manning and Inez Felder of New York, N.Y.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Mount Calvary FBH Church, Boyce Street, Manning, with the Rev. Dennis Jeffcoat, presiding, and Elder James MacFarland, eulogist.
Burial followed in the Manning Cemetery.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
