David A. Hobbs
David Alan Hobbs, 69, went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2007.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Florence Memorial Gardens in Florence.
Mr. Hobbs was born in the Peniel community of Timmonsville, a son of the late Oscar T. Sr. and Elise Lovett Hobbs. He was a graduate of Timmonsville High School and attended Clemson University. He served in the Army Reserve for several years. Mr. Hobbs worked in the furniture business and retired from the insurance business. He was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Manning.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife, Myrtle Allen Hobbs of Summerton; a daughter, Alane (Tony) Price of Florence; three sons, Drew (Susan) Hobbs, Will (Kimberly) Hobbs, all of Florence, and Rodney (Kim) Hobbs of Summerton; three granddaughters, Ashley Hobbs, Jennifer Price and Kelly Ard; five grandsons, Zachary Hobbs, Al Hobbs, Matthew Price, Ben Price and Steven Howard; three sisters, Selma Sanders of Texas, Rose Reid of Florence and Kathy (Demmie) Stilley of Charlotte; a brother, Oscar (Patricia) Hobbs; a brother-in-law, Millard (Cathy) Allen of Florence; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by four sisters, Emmie Lou Morris, Johnnie Hobbs, Colzie Stafford and Hessie McClam; and five brothers, James, Wilbur, Lavern, T.W. “Rock” and Harrison Hobbs.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church of Manning.
Layton-Anderson Funeral Home of Florence was in charge of arrangements.
