Harriet R. Freeman

Harriet Rebecca Freeman, 81, widow of Silas Freeman, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at her home in the Brewington community of Manning.

Born March 11, 1926, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Eddie Wade Evans and the late Margaret Sudie Robinson Evans. She was a member of Paxville Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are a daughter, Helen Timmons (David) Smith of Alcolu; four sons, Eddie D. (Betty) Freeman, Lonnie Wade Freeman, Tommy L. Freeman and Arthur Lyles (Terry) Freeman, all of Manning; a brother, Erasmus R. Evans of West Columbia; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; to include a special grandson, Timothy L. Freeman.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 28, 2007, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Lonnie J. Grimsley officiating.

Burial followed in Brewington Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lewis Howard Sr., Lewis Howard Jr., Arthur Graham, Burt Hardy, Buck Hardy and Johnny Lowder. Honorary pallbearer was Dave Smith.

Memorials may be made to Tri-County Hospice, 1236-B Wilson Hall Road, Sumter, S.C. 29150.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
