Patricia Floyd Floyd
Patricia “Elaine” Floyd Floyd, 57, wife of Kenneth Napoleon “Kenny” Floyd, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at her home.
Born Feb. 2, 1952, in Lake City, she was the daughter of Ethel Frye Floyd and the late Rev. John Burdell Floyd. She was a cosmetologist, a former clerk-secretary in the loan business and a member of New Hope Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Libby Floyd; and a brother, John “Pinky” Floyd.
Surviving, besides her mother and husband of New Zion, are a daughter, Vangie Thigpen of Lake City; a son Matthew (Leslie) Floyd of Effingham; a foster daughter, Kathy (Derrick) Filyaw of New Zion; a brother, Darren (Brandi) Floyd of Charleston; grandchildren, Kristen Jackson, Rebecca, Caleb and Adam Filyaw; and a number of loving cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 27, 2009, in New Hope Christian Church, with the Rev. Bobby Morris officiating.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Tuomey Hospice, and a special thanks for the many kindnesses and compassion of her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, area churches and community.
