Richard Andrews Sr.

QUEENS, N.Y. – Richard “Moody” Andrews Sr., widower of Emma “Duke” Britton Andrews, died Monday, June 11, 2007, at Parker Institute.

Born Oct. 7, 1919, in Summerton, he was a son of the late Richard F. “Bubba” Andrews and Susan “Lula” Richardson Andrews.

Survivors include four sons, Richard (Barbara Ann) Andrews Jr. of Queens, N.Y., Leon “Donnie” Andrews of Bronx, N.Y., Leroy (Nancy) Andrews of New York, N.Y., and Thomas Black of New York; four daughters, Susie Mae Hubbard, Malvenia Andrews, Betty Ann (Willie) Singleton, all of Queens, and Rozena Black of Bronx; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 18, 2007, at St. Philip RUME Church in Pinewood, with the Rev. Warren Hatcher, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
