Felix Jones
Felix Jones, 66, departed this earthly life on Monday, June 4, 2007, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.
Born April 9, 1941, in Summerton, he was a son of the late Valley and Rose Marion Jones. Felix received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County and graduated from Scott’s Branch High School, where he was a member of their first football team. In his youth, he joined Spring Hill AME Church. He was united in holy matrimony to Betty Washington. To this union four children were born.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl “Marie” Jones.
Those left to grow from his love and cherish his memory are his wife, Betty Washington Jones of Summerton; two sons, Reginald (Tina) Jones and Donald (Ernestine) Kelly, both of Summerton; two daughters, Angelita (Cedric) Casey of Plainfield, N.J., and Gwendolyn (Perry) Faggan of Piscataway, N.J.; nine grandchildren, LaToya, Jeffrey, Leasia, Marc, Reginald, Joshua, Imani, Perry II and Melinda; two sisters, Sarah Geneva King of Summerton and Shirley (Lawrence) Collins of Baltimore, Md.; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Jones were held on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Spring Hill AME Church in Davis Cross Roads, Summerton. Services were officiated by the Rev. Harold Conyers and Elder Willie M. Starks.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Summerton Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
