Steve Davis, Director of Radiology at Clarendon Health System, has earned national distinction in his career field by becoming a Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) from the Radiology Administration Certification Commission.

He is one of only 38 who passed the extensive examination out of more than 80 who took it nationwide.

The CRA designation is the only professional credential tailored specifically for radiology administrators, focusing on several management competency areas including human resources, finances, operations and communications.

“Steve has been a valuable asset to Clarendon Health System since he joined us in 1999. He played a pivotal role in helping us open our new high tech imaging center,” said Eleyce Winn, Director of Hospital Services.

Prior to joining Clarendon Health System, Davis worked at Lake City Community Hospital and McLeod Regional Medical Center. He graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College School of Radiology after attending Lander College and serving as an Advanced Medical Specialist in the Army National Guard.

“I am proud of the advancements in technology that we have made here, from our 16 slice CT scanner to our patient friendly MRI, but what I am most proud of is the people who work in the Radiology Department at Clarendon Memorial Hospital,” said Davis.

“I get to lead a team of healthcare professionals who give their best everyday. I couldn’t have earned this accreditation without their support,” he added.

“Earning an accreditation like this one takes a great deal of hard work and dedication. As one of only 38 who passed the examination in the country, I think it speaks volumes to his leadership here.
