Mana T. Ridgill
Mana Thompson Ridgill, 93, widow of John Oliver Ridgill, died Friday, June 1, 2007, at National Healthcare of Sumter.
Born Aug. 13, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Robert Marion Thompson Jr. and the late Frances Rosa Cain Thompson.
She was a retired employee after 40 years of service at B.C. Moore and Sons Department Store and a charter member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Kay (Ben) Raffield of Woodrow; a son, John Oliver (Barbara) Ridgill Jr. of Columbia; two sisters, Florrie T. DuBose of Due West and Dorothy T. Rawlinson of LaGrange, Ga.; a brother, Robert Marion Thompson III of Lake City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Leslie Kay Bargeron of Augusta, Ga., Kathleen Cain DuRant of Sumter, John Terrell Ridgill of Louisville, Ky., Charles Joseph Davis Jr. and David Anders Ridgill, both of Columbia, John Benjamin Raffield IV and Christopher Bullock Raffield, both of Dalzell; and four great-grandchildren, Joseph Cecil DuRant Jr., Justin Robert DuRant, Joseph Michael Bargeron and Katlyn Minette Bargeron.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Jennie Thompson, Louise Berry and Roberta Thompson; and two brothers, Lester Cain Thompson Sr. and her twin brother, Loyal Robert Thompson.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 3, 2007, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Charlie Tyler officiating.
Burial followed in Manning Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Monroe Ridgill, Lester Cain Thompson Jr., Loyal Alex Thompson, Marion Cain Thompson, Robert Braxton Thompson, James Carlisle DuBose Jr. and John Nathaniel Herlong Jr.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
