Carl B. Pack III
Carl Benjamin “Benny” Pack III, 54, died Thursday, May 31, 2007, in Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter County, he was a son of Sara L. Pack and the late Carl B. Pack Jr.
He was a member of Providence Baptist Church. He was a commercial truck driver for many years and in recent years was a professional wallpaper hanger and painter.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Jenny” Pack of Sumter; his mother of Sumter; two sons, Marine Cpl. Scotty Allen Huggins of Beaufort and Carl Benjamin Pack IV of Sumter; five grandchildren, Houston Huggins, Austin Huggins, Lucas Huggins, Preston Pack and Kaylee McClellan; three sisters, Beverly (Wayne) Oxendine of Paxville, Gail (Danny) Dowless and Angela (Mickey) Spigner, all of Sumter; a brother, Anthony “Tony” Pack of Paxville; five nieces; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maxie Logan and Marie Logan Schwartzback, and Carl B. Pack Sr. and Theresa H. Pack.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 3, 2007, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Dale Turner and Richard Coleman officiating.
Burial was in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stacey Oxendine, Carl Spigner, Arthur Pack, Kirby Brinson, Blanding Goins and Elias “Bubba” Preast.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter was in charge of arrangements.
