Harry L. Brown Jr.

MYRTLE BEACH – FC-2 Harry Lee Brown Jr., 30, husband of Angela Harris Brown, died May 25, 2007, in Myrtle Beach.

Born Aug. 2, 1976, in Manning, he was a son of Ruby Witherspoon Brown and the late Harry Lee Brown Sr. He accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Trinity AME Church, where he served as a member of the Sunday school, youth choir, usher board and youth department. He was a 1995 graduate of Manning High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1996 and served until his death.

Survivors besides his wife, Angela Harris Brown of Hampton, Va., and mother, Ruby W. Brown of Manning, include one daughter, Mia A. Brown of Hampton; one godson, Noah Devers of King George, Va.; one brother, Vareck (Dinita) Brown of Orangeburg; one sister, Florinda (Shawn) Dukes of Manning; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Trinity AME Church in Manning, with the Rev. W.J. Harris, pastor, presiding, the Rev. Dr. Bennie Colclough, eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Cokley Richburg and the Revs. Michael Richburg and G.K. Carter.

Burial was in Manning Cemetery.

Pallbearers were the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

Floral bearers were the Manning High School Class of 1995.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of arrangements.
