George McConico

George “Bobby” McConico, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Windsor Manor Nursing Home, Manning.

Born Dec. 8, 1943, in Clarendon County, he was the son of the late Amelia McConico. He received his education in the public schools of Clarendon County and was a member of St. Peter AME Church. Mr. McConico was employed by Sili Yarn in Thomasville, N.C., for many years before moving back home.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Christie Gail Brown of Columbia and Lakisha Rochelle McCauley of Thomasville; four sisters, Carolyn Brailsford of Pinewood, Shirley McConico of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Dorothy (Charles) Tindal and Betty and her husband of Summerton; two brothers, Elijah McConico and Junior (Julia) McConico, all of Pinewood; two special cousins, Ernestine (the Rev. Joseph) Stukes and Mary Junious; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at St. Peter AME Church, Pinewood, with the Rev. J.D. Seawright officiating.

Burial followed in the Spring Grove Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home of Sumter was in charge of arrangements.
