Kiaria S. Lloyd
Kiaria “Kiki” Simone Lloyd, 11, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at her residence in New Zion.
Born March 15, 1997, in Charleston, she was a daughter of Laquincy McKnight and Shantella J. Lloyd. She attended Walker-Gamble Elementary School, New Zion, and Manning Elementary School. Reared in a Christian home, she attended Howard Chapel AME Church, where she was a member of the Sunday school, Allen Stars, mass choir and praise dancers.
Survivors include her mother, Shantella Juanita Lloyd of the home; father, Laquincy McKnight of Florence; maternal grandparents, William (Ella) Calvin Sr. of Alcolu; paternal grandmother, Beatrice McKnight of Olanta; paternal grandfather, Gary Rush of Richmond, Va.; step-grandfather, Jimmy Lloyd of Turbeville; godmother, Cynthia Lloyd of Charleston; godfather, Marvin Lloyd of Lithonia, Ga.; 16 aunts; 11 uncles; 16 grandaunts; and 10 granduncles.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, two uncles, two aunts and one cousin.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Walker-Gamble Elementary School in New Zion, with the Rev. Jerome McCray presiding, Pastor Odell Brown, eulogist, assisting the Rev. Alfred Bradley and Minister Arkus Frierson.
Burial followed in the Howard Chapel AME Church cemetery.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
