Mary Bracey

Mary Bracey, 82, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Born Oct. 9, 1925 in Summerville, she was a daugther of the late Isham Bracey and the late Ida Hilton Bracey.

Her education was obtained in the public schools of Summerville. She was employed with the Board of Education, P.S. 279 of New York for several years and retired in 1986.

She was a member of First Baptist Missionary Church, Brooklyn.

Ms. Bracey is survived by a sister, Pastor Ruth McRaven of Brooklyn; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susie Washington; two sisters, Julia and Susie; and two brothers, Moses and George.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Fleming and Delaine Chapel in Manning, with the Rev. Leroy McElveen officiating.

Burial followed in the Manning cemetery.

Fleming and Delaine Funeral Home and Chapel of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
