Cecelia M. Roberts

Cecelia M. “Ceil” Roberts, 81, wife of 61 years to Joe B. Roberts, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer with her family at her side.

Ceil was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Sanford, Fla., and retired to Manning from Highland Hospital (a division of Duke University) in Asheville, N.C. Upon retirement, she and her husband, Joe, traveled the world and enjoyed a wonderful, fruitful partnership. She was a wonderful wife, mother and mother-in-law. She will be missed by friends and family.

Surviving besides her husband of Manning is a daughter, Fran (Robert) Burwell of Greensboro, N.C.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, S.C., 29605, or to a charity of one’s choice.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning, was in charge of arrangements.
