Norman L. Coker
Mr. Norman Lloyd Coker, age 69, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at his residence after an illness.
Born in Kingstree, he was a son of the late Wilbur Coker and Edith White Wilson Coker.
Mr. Coker was retired from the South Carolina Highway Department, Maintenance Division; worked for Clarendon County School District 3 as a groundskeeper; and was junior varsity softball head coach at East Clarendon High School.
Mr. Coker was a member of the Hebron United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Lloyd Coker.
Mr. Coker is survived by his wife, Judith “Judy” O. Coker of the home; a daughter, Susan Elaine Coker of Turbeville; a son, Warren Wilson Coker of Florence; a half-sister, Liz Jenkins of Georgetown; three half-brothers, Harvey (Lenora) Coker and Don (Barbara) Coker of Kingstree and Larry (Jane) Coker of Turbeville; and one grandchild, Austin Tyler Coker of Turbeville.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in the chapel of Floyd Funeral Home.
Burial followed in the Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery.
