Charles J. Belle

Charles Jerome Belle, 49, husband of Rebecca Junious Belle, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 23, 2007, at his residence in Summerton.

Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of Susanna Belle and the late Ellis Witherspoon. He was raised by his grandmother, the late Sarah Thomas. He was educated in the public schools of Clarendon County, where he graduated from Scott’s Branch High School, Class of 1976. He was employed by Food Lion Distribution Center, Elloree, and Interlake Shipping, Sumter. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 10 years.

Fond memories will be cherished by his wife, Rebecca Junious Belle of the home; his mother, Susanna Belle; a daughter, Princess Jennifer Nicole Belle of the home; a brother, John Belle of Thomasville, N.C.; a sister, Glynn Belle of Decatur, Ga.; two granddaughters, Jai’Niyah Belle and Alexus Belle, both of the home; and a host of other close relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at Mount Pleasant UME Church, Panola, with the Rev. Barry Godesden, pastor, officiating.

Final resting place was the church cemetery.

Dyson’s Home for Funerals of Summerton was in charge of the arrangements.
