Rev. Isadore Lee

The Rev. Isadore “Sonny” Lee, 75, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, after an illness.

Born in Dillon County, he was a son of the late Robert Edward Lee Jr. and Mary Louise Johnson Lee. The Rev. Lee was a retired Baptist minister, having served at Union Baptist Church in Marion and First Baptist Church in Turbeville, of which he was a member. He received a diploma of pastoral ministries from Southeastern Seminary and was a member of Turbeville Ministerial Association. He was awarded pastor emeritus on June 30, 2001, and received the Smyrna Award from Turbeville First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Lions Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann White Lee, and two brothers, Vondell Lee and R.M. Lee.

Surviving are a daughter, Wendy L. (Kenny) Yates of Turbeville; a son, Jeffrey D. Lee of Florence; two sisters, Jean Lee of Latta and Mildred Johnson of Dillon; and three grandchildren, Carson Elizabeth Lee, David Michael Lee and Kenneth Coleman Yates.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Turbeville First Baptist Church.

Interment was at Magnolia Cemetery in Latta.
