Hugh L. DuBose

Hugh LeRoy DuBose, 60, husband of Mary Ida Zeigler DuBose, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.

Born August 31, 1946, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Luther LeRoy and Elizabeth McFaddin DuBose. He was a teacher at Kingstree High School, and a member of New Zion United Methodist Church.

Surviving besides his wife of Manning are a son, Hugh Kennedy(Gabriela) DuBose of Grants Pass, Ore.; a daughter, Elizabeth Marie DuBose (Louis) Brockinton of New Zion; a sister, Sara Elizabeth DuBose Williamson of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a granddaughter, Adela Mia DuBose of Grants Pass, Ore.; and a grandson, Mason Edward Brockinton of New Zion.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12, 2007, at New Zion United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charlie Brookshire officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Earle DuBose, Richard Odiorne, Walter Odiorne, Rocky Stewart, Benton Blakely and Jimmy Myers.

Stephens Funeral Home in Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
