George Tomlin

George Tomlin, 57, husband of Mary Bryant Tomlin, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.

Born June 5, 1950, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Thomas Tomlin Sr. and the late Annie Wilson Tomlin. He was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church (USA) and a graduate of Manning Training High School. He was a professional brick mason and worked for several years with McDaniel, Rogers and DuPont Construction companies.

Survivors include two sons, Sheldon (Lizzie) Tomlin of Sumter and George Tomlin Jr. of Manning; four daughters, Jennifer Tomlin of Alcolu, Jessica Tomlin, Lakell Tomlin and Machelle Nelson, all of Manning; two brothers, Albert (Mary) Tomlin of Manning and Robert Tomlin of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Annie (Willie) Harvin of Davis Station; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Tomlin Jr. and James Tomlin.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Westminister Presbyterian Church (USA), Alcolu, with the Rev. Dr. Ella F. Busby officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Pugh, the Rev. Henry McCray, the Rev. Dr. Franklin Colclough and the Rev. Dr. William T. Johnson.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Fleming and DeLaine Funeral Home of Manning was in charge of services.
