Fred Floyd

SCRANTON – Fred Floyd, age 67, died Monday, March 31, 2008, in a Florence hospital, after an illness.

Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Palmer and Jessie Mae Floyd of Turbeville. He was a tool and dye maker. He was a member of Paran Baptist Church of Lake City, a Mason and member of Fidelity Lodge No. 394.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Weatherford Floyd, and a son, Richard Neil Floyd.

He is survived by his wife, Alicia Diggs Floyd of Scranton; two daughters, Charlotte F. (Jason) Driggers of Lake City and Jennifer F. (Thomas) Evans of New Zion; three stepdaughters, Suzan (Mark) Josey of Timmonsville, Angela (Richie) Miles of Scranton and April (Gorden) Phalen of Jacksonville, N.C.; four brothers, Lilton (Jeanette) Floyd, Jack (Kay) Floyd and Kelley (Sharon) Floyd, all of Turbeville, and Rocky (B.J.) Floyd of Sumter; two sisters, Marion F. (Harold) Godwin of Coward and Judy F. (Danny) Wilson of Camden; four grandchildren, Wyatt and Corissa Driggers and Triston and Morgan Evans; nine step- grandchildren, Serena and Alita Josey, Krystal and Mary Katherine Miles, Angel McCutcheon, Destiny, Amber and Brittany Jones and Lucien Phalen.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial was in the Lake City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Fidelity Lodge No. 394.

Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta was in charge of the arrangements.
