Peter J. Ciancimino

Peter John Ciancimino, 57, husband of Thongyoi “Yoi” Ciancimino, died Friday, April 4, 2008, in Summerton.

Born Nov.16, 1950, in Manhattan, N.Y., he was a son of the late Peter and Domenica Monforte Ciancimino. He was a truckdriver for 33 years, and recently earned an award for being No. 1 truck driver for Lightning Transport. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and was of the Catholic faith. Peter loved to fish, having earned the nickname “Captain Hook,” and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Surviving are his wife of Summerton; a stepdaughter, two step granddaughters, and a step great-granddaughter in Thailand; two aunts, Dorothy VanBueskirk of Concord, Calif. , and Chet Daniello of West Islip, N.Y.; and two cousins, John Daniello of West Islip, N.Y., and Tommy VanBueskirk of Concord.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Angie Ciancimino.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in Lake Marion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Kennedy officiating.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning, was in charge of the arrangements.
