James D. Bosier

RANGEBURG – James David Bosier, 65, died on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at his residence in Orangeburg.

Born in Clarendon County on Sept. 28, 1942, he was a son of the late Willie and Rosa Gaymon-Bosier. James was educated in the public schools of Clarendon County. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age. He became a member of Nimrod Lodge No. 5. He moved to New York, N.Y., in 1993 and later returned to South Carolina. He was united in holy matrimony to Ruby Fullwood. “Bummie,” as he was affectionately called, was a happy-go-lucky guy who loved to dance, even when his health began to fail.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Dewayne Bosier.

Fond memories will be cherished by his fiancée, Willa Jean Lewis of Orangeburg; two daughters, Marsha Bosier of Shallotte, N.C., and Tishawn Folkes of Bronx, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Jada and Kayla; three sisters, Margaree Coles, Willene B. Johnson and Jessie Mae Green, all of Philadelphia, Pa.; a brother, Albertus Bosier of Paxville; he adopted as sisters and brothers, Harold Ragin of Sumter, Robert Ragin and Mary Emma Spann, both of Paxville, Delores Breland, Mattie Goode and Ruth Holiday of New York, N.Y.; a special friend, Clarence “Brucie Boy” Matthews; a special cousin, Tommie L. Ragin; a special little friend, Jasmine Kindell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Mount Pleasant UME Church, Pinewood, with the Rev. Dr. Barry Gadsden, pastor, officiating, and Bishop Mike Nino, eulogist.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Dyson’s Home for Funerals of Summerton was in charge of the arrangements.
